The "Final Fantasy XV" Scrap of Mystery side quest is a quest that requires gathering several clues/maps from different locations in the FFXV game world. Due to the vastness of the FFXV world and the numerous quest that are played in the "Final Fantasy XV" looking for these maps can actually be quite arduous.

There are 14 map clues and 14 Sylvester map pieces that should be collected before a FFXV player can obtain the 50,000 gil and sellable Mythril Ingot reward at the end of the quest. IGN gave a recommended level guide for all the 14 Scraps of Mystery Quest as well as the recommended level for the X Marks the Spot "Final Fantasy XV" end mission for the Scraps of Mystery Quest.

The first scrap clue can be found next to a white chair at the motel walkway located at Northeast end of the Longwythe Rest Area in Leide. The second scrap clue can be found under a small cart beside a tall fence just across the arms dealer in Leide's Prairie Outpost.

The third scrap clue is under a cabin shade close to a small water tower between the dirt and main roads going to the Prairie Outpost. It is at the Southwest of Formouth Garrison located at Leide.

Next scrap clue is on a small wooden board behind a rubble on the gap of a large red wall east of the trooper blockade to Insomnia's capital. The 5^th clue can be seen among some ruins and a large pipe at the northwestern tip of easternmost part of the Three Valleys at the east of Pallebram Haven.

It should be noted that the scrap clues will look like a small mag fragment while Sylvester's maps will only appear when a player is extremely nearby as small glowing gold dots. The next five map clues can be found at "Final Fantasy XV" Duscae map.
