Fans of the first installment are surely excited to see "Pacific Rim: Uprising." Aside from the lead star John Boyega, many are curious which stars from the original film will return.

When asked about it, producer Guillermo del Toro kept mum on who really gets to come back for another ride but promised that there will be several people returning - some familiar faces that will surely excite the fans out there. Solid details will be released at the official launch. What we know from now is the fact that the shooting for the film had already started.

"Pacific Rim: Uprising" is officially under way and a new set of characters are expected to topple the success of the first outing. A new set of photos released however, gave a hint on who would make their comeback into the show and it seems like Rinko Kikuchi will be reprising her role as Mako Mori in the second installment.

Burn Gorman and Charlie Day will be returning as Newt and Gottlieb of the original cast as well. Karl Urban, however, said he will not be suiting up for the movie. But fans still think he might be a possibility.

"Pacific Rim: Uprising" Cast Revealed? Scott Eastwood and Cailee Spaeny are on the list and there is no surprise in that! But as for Urban, it seems like it is not going to happen. Other names on the paper have not been revealed. While Karl Urban seems like the actor that would do such geek films like this, there is still no confirmation from his side that he will be into it.

He actually denied he will be in the upcoming version of the movie. On his Twitter account, he said: "No, I'm not part of this, but I would like to see the movie soon!" If it is just a sarcasm, fans have over a year to find out.

The movie will be directed by no less than "Daredevil" runner Steven S. DeKnight. It can be recalled that del Toro helmed the initial release of the film. Fans will have to wait a little longer though as "Pacific Rim: Uprising" is coming to theaters on February 23, 2018.
