George Clooney Supports Meryl Streep's Anti-Trump Speech at 74th Golden Globes [VIDEO]
Meryl Streep's anti-Trump speech at the 74th Golden Globe Awards ceremony certainly got some mixed reactions from both sides of the fence. Now, Streep's fellow actor, George Clooney, has given his take on the speech and has outright given his support for Steep's point of view.
The 55-year old veteran actor recently attended a reception even hosted by The Clooney Foundation for Justice on Monday. During his time on stage, while speaking to the attendees, Clooney talked about how Mr. Trump was supposed to be focusing on running the country and not ranting on social media. According to The Guardian, Clooney, who is a Hillary Clinton supporter, then mentioned that he does not support Trump, but that people should still just have hope that the President-elect would do the job that has been assigned to him.
Streep's speech had triggered a myriad of mixed reactions from fans and political figures after the Golden Globe event, with Trump even chiming in on social media. Trump posted a long winded rant on Twitter calling Streep one of the most "overrated actresses in Hollywood." The billionaire even claimed that Streep was just upset because her candidate lost in the recently held United States Presidential Elections.

During Streep's time on stage at the event held over the weekend at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, the actress expressed her disgust over how Trump had apparently mocked a disabled reporter. Streep was, of course, referring to Trump's reaction to the New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski's accusations back in 2015. During that time the Republican billionaire reacted to the issue by denying the accusations while also jerking his arms, seemingly mocking Mr. Kovaleski's congenital condition.
Streep then mentioned that Trump's behavior was unbecoming of a person that the people have asked to sit in the country's most respected position. She further explained that the incident would only serve to legitimize bullying and influence others to do the same.
