'Poken Go' Update, Expected to Increase User Engagement, Life Expectancy Rate
"Pokemon Go" has continued to develop its ways to ensure that players are engaged and users are entertained while they hunt down their favorite Pokemon through the app. Every so often, Niantic has been releasing updates to keep the players at bay. Now, with a new development coming into the hunting app, they are giving players a huge reason to get outside and find themselves some more Pokemon!
"Pokemon Go" is giving players more reason to catch them all. For the past few weeks, they have been releasing updates to increase the level of engagement and attachment to the game. But this new development aims to add more years to a user's life. According to a study, this new update from Niantic will extend life of its player.
A better life expectancy is expected as research says that players of the application will likely meet official activity guidelines in the states thrice as much as before. According to the report: "Users who are more engaged to the app are most likely to meet the official activity guidelines thrice as much in one month after they start playing the hunting app."
It seems like "Pokemon Go" is turning into a fitness app as if the engagement of the users is sustained, this can affect US life expectancy rate as well. The said study was conducted by researchers from Stanford. The likelihood of increasing daily activity is there at 26%. They added: "We have researche don the effects of physical activity resulting from playing "Pokemon Go" via an algorithm of high-scale wearable sensor data along with search engine logs showing that the game prompts its users to increase activity by around 1473 steps a day."
Their findings show that if this is put together, that is an additional 144 billion steps to the physical activity in the United States. That is 2.825 million years added to the lifetime of their users. "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update is currently anticipated by the players, as well as Legendary Pokemon such as Articuno Zapdos and Moltres. This is after the game had released updates after the New Year event.
Circulating around the rumor mill is a new mail sent out by Niantic possibly providing a teaser on the next huge Pokemon Go Update: “That’s all for now. Look for another update from us in a few weeks. Maybe a message from Professor Willow will surprise you. Remember to keep your alert level up whenever playing Pokemon Go!"
The professor reference gives a hint that new Pokemon might be released later this month. Speculations are becoming more solid that new Pokemon will launch by batch, and will be revealed by Niantic via mini-events in the future.
