Asus Reveals ZenFone 3 Zoom Price Before February Launch; Specs Include 12MP Camera With 2.3x Zoom
Taiwan-based Asus just revealed the price of their upcoming ZenFone 3 Zoom smartphone. After unveiling the device during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 last week in Las Vegas, the company decided to finally announce how much it would cost even before it could make its official launch next month.
According to reports, the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom will carry a price tag of CNY 3,699, which is around $535. But this price is just for the high-end 128 GB version which runs with 4 GB of RAM. Asus chose to keep the other prices of the versions for now. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out how much the 32 GB and the 64 GB versions will. It's expected to be cheaper though.
With regards to the specs and features, reports detailed that the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom will be sporting a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. It is 7.9mm thick and weighs 170 grams only. This is why the device is dubbed the "thinnest and lightest" smartphone even with a huge battery pack. The ZenFone 3 Zoom comes with a 5,000mAh battery capacity.
But the highlight feature of the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom will have to be its photography capabilities. Reports said that the device is intentionally made with impressive camera features as they are targeting the mobile photography enthusiasts. The smartphone boasts a dual rear camera setup which is both 12 megapixels. One of the units at the rear comes with a Sony IMX362 sensor while the other one is affixed with a wide-angle f/1.7 aperture sensor that allows it to offer 2.3x of optical zoom.
On the front is a 13-megapixel selfie snapper. Moreover, the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is packed with a Snapdragon 625 processor and is pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
