Apple iPad Pro 2 vs. Microsoft Surface Pro 5: Which 2017 2-In-1 Tablet Is Better?
Neither the iPad Pro 2 nor the Surface Pro 5 has been confirmed, but this hasn't stopped Apple and Microsoft fans from comparing the two upcoming 2-in-1 devices. The current iterations of these hybrid computers, the iPad Pro and the Surface Pro 4, are ultra-thin and powerful devices that are popular with consumers. However, both Apple and Microsoft are reportedly gearing up to release new versions with major upgrades. So which 2-in-1 computer will come out on top? Here is a quick comparison of the two upcoming hybrid gadgets.
TCC reports that Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 will likely come with the seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake processor, which will make it much faster than the Surface Pro 4. Meanwhile, Apple is supposedly loading its iPad Pro 2 with its own A10X processor.
The Surface Pro 5 is expected to run Microsoft's RedStone OS while the iPad Pro 2 will likely run Apple's latest version of iOS 10.
There have been various predictions about the iPad Pro 2's display, including that it will feature an all-glass, bezel-less design (the same thing rumored for the iPhone 8) and that the device's Home button will be embedded in the glass. The iPad Pro 2 is also reportedly getting a True Tone display and/or Force Touch. The device could come in three size variants: 9.7 inches, 10. 5 inches, and 12.9 inches.
Meanwhile, the Surface Pro 5 is reportedly getting a 12.3-inch Pixel Sense display and could be offered in two variants -- one with 2K resolution and another with 4K resolution.
The iPad Pro 2 is speculated to boast a 12-megapixel True Tone main shooter and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Surface Pro 5 is reportedly getting a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front shooter.
There are currently no official release dates for the rumored iPad Pro 2 and Surface Pro 5. However, many are expecting the next iPad Pro and the next Surface Pro to launch sometime in March.
