LG G6 Specs & News: Expect A 5.7 Inch Screen With QHD+ Resolution & Almost Zero Bezels

LG G6 will come with a 5.7 inch LCD screen with an interesting aspect ratio of 18:9 and QHD+ resolution. This news has been announced by LG Display. To remind the readers, LG Display is the display making division of LG which is almost an independent group in itself. They have said that these features will be a part of the next flagship phone to be released by LG, which could be LG G6 itself. Other reports state that the new design of this upcoming phone will try to maximize the screen to body ratio of the phone.

Previously, this larger ratio worked successfully for LG G2 but LG had to divert from this feature from the other models when they prioritized other attributes in a phone. Why is the 18:9 ratio as a part of the LG G6 specs so unusual? The traditional aspect ratio is 16:9 which perfectly fits with most screens today, both mobile and desktop. Mi Mix, launched by Xiaomi, goes an extra mile by giving a 17:9 screen.

This was done to fit the Android software buttons. Why is the company aiming to become taller with the upcoming phone? Maybe there could be something added to the extra space- for instance, a second screen concept. This was seen before in V10 and V20 phones and is being emulated by other brands like HTC as well.

The flagship will also bring about another attribute that can be seen in other brands as well- bringing about almost to complete bezel-less phones in the coming times. If indeed the LG G6 specs include an almost bezel-less design, even the 5.7-inch screen will not feel that huge. That way LG G6 could compete very efficiently with other phones in the same segment including Sony and LG predecessors, too.

The QHD+ resolution boasts of extra pixels, as compared to the standard Quad HD screen and it may also improve power consumption by a notable 30%. Keep reading MobileNApps for more updates about the trending smartphones and related news.
