Google has revealed that Android Wear 2.0 will be launched at the Mobile World Congress in early February. This update is expected to change the face of the wearable version of the Android OS.

As the competition among smartwatches intensifies, LG came out to be one of the top competitors. The company is planning to release two new smartwatches soon, namely the W270 and the W280. Both have reportedly been acknowledged through Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The FCC is an agency that regulates communications made via television, radio, satellite, wire and cable in the US. This independent body monitors six elements in the field of competition, broadband, media, spectrum, homeland security, public safety and modernization.

In 2016, LG was not in the list of the smartwatch devices, along with Motorola and Huawei. Unlike the Samsung Gear S3, Asus ZenWatch 3 and Apple Watch Series, these devices have come out as solid options when it comes to a new wearable Android market.

However, for 2017, LG is looking to prove that it is capable to take part in the smartwatch race. The third and latest edition, called the LG Watch Urbane 3, carries LG W280 built with HSPA bands, GSM and LTE. It is unlike the LG W270 model, which is only equipped with Wi-Fi. Both LG W280 and W270 were made of a Qualcomm brand processor, along with and IP67 certification for dust and water resistance.

This two LG Watch Urbane 3rd Edition smartwatch models will operate Android Wear 2.0, which is scheduled to launch in February at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, as reported by Droid-Life. There is still no official price announced for these LG smartwatches. On the bright side, industry observers won't need to wait long because these devices are expected to appear in Barcelona next month.
