"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is slated to arrive on Wii U and Nintendo Switch with a release in March 2017. Nintendo's upcoming action-adventure video game is now confirmed as a launch title for the Big N's new console, Switch. Let's delve into the release date, gameplay, trailer, pre-order and price details for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."

'The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Release Date

Contrary to previous reports suggesting that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" would not make it to the Nintendo Switch launch on March 3, the game publisher has confirmed that it will be the launch title for Nintendo Switch, with a Wii U release happening at about the same time. This is to ensure that fans can get their hands on the game for either console starting the first week of March.

'The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Price & Pre-Orders

There are bevies of pre-order options available for 'The Legend of Zelda" fans in the UK. They can pre-order the impending title from Amazon for £59.99 (about $73) and also from Game and Zavvi for the same price. European players can pre-order a Limited Edition edition of the game from Amazon and Zavvi for £89.99 (about $109).

Wii U owners can get the game by shelling out comparatively less money. "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" can be pre-ordered from Game for £49.99 (about $60), while Amazon is offering a pre-order guarantee for £40 (about $48), according to PC Advisor.

'The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Gameplay Features

It's worth noting that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is one of the only Zelda games that boast HD graphics. Other titles from the series that have HD graphics include the remakes of "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" and "The Legend of Zelda; Twilight Princess" for Wii U.

Moreover, the upcoming Zelda game will feature an open world. According to Eiji Aonuma, "The Legend of Zelda" designer, Nintendo decided to go for an open world title in their bid to give players more freedom rather than restricting their movements to a confined area. Players will be able to delve into the open world on foot or by riding Link's horse Epona, who lets Link get an unhindered aim at enemies thanks to its AI (artificial intelligence) that takes the helm while the player has his/her hands full.

'The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Latest Update

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" Nintendo Switch Presentation trailer (shown below) sheds more light on the space needed for the upcoming game on the new console. No prizes for guessing, it is a big game occupying a considerable 13.4GB free space on the Nintendo Switch, which is only up for grabs in one size i.e. 32GB. Players will need to make use of the microSD card slot. It looked like this could be used to add 256GB only; however, Nintendo told GameInformer it can take up to 2TB.

Meanwhile, new reports are now claiming that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has two contrasting resolutions. Apparently, when docked and played on a big screen, the game runs at 900p, but when undocked in a portable mode, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" declines to 720p. More details are likely to surface before the game finally makes an appearance on March 3.
