'Big Bang Theory' Season 11 Talks Still Underway, CBS Boss Guardedly Optimistic

As another season comes to a close another round of cancellation rumors have spread, this has been the norm for the popular comedy TV show "The Big Bang Theory". Talks for an 11th season of "The Big Bang Theory" has reportedly begun and updates about the negotiations have been scarce which led many to speculate that there may be some problems with the extension talks.

Glenn Geller, CBS Entertainment president, revealed in an interview with Deadline that negotiations for another season/s of "The Big Bang Theory" is currently underway. Like in the past negotiations, an agreement between CBS and Warner Bros TV must first be sorted out before talks with "The Big Bang Theory" cast members could be started.

There's likely no problem on the part of the TV network and the studio to give "The Big Bang Theory" an extension given that the hit TV comedy show is a ratings' behemoth. The next phase of negotiation will be a lot trickier as it will involve the network and the individual cast members.

The timeline for contract extension is basically still on schedule as the current contracts of "The Big Bang Theory" cast members were not agreed upon up until summer of 2014 when the three-year extension for the show was agreed upon and which will conclude this year. Rumors have spread that individual cast members, particularly Jim Parsons who plays the main character Sheldon Cooper in "The Big Bang Theory, would like to focus on other things outside the popular comedy series.

However, several cast members including Kaley Cuoco has already expressed optimism for "The Big Bang Theory" Season 11 and possibly more. Fans may just have to wait for any official updates from CBS if "The Big Bang Theory" will be extended and to borrow the words of Glenn Geller, be "guardedly optimistic" about it.
