'American Crime Story' Bill Clinton - Monica Lewinsky Scandal Story Announced

JP

Looks like 2017 isn't really a good year for the Clintons. After Hillary's defeat to Donald Trump for the US Presidency and witnessing the Donald take his oath of office, the Clintons are now set to relive their biggest family scandal as "American Crime Story" has just announced that a Monica Lewinsky based feature is currently in the works.

According to Variety, Fox 21 TV and FX Productions, co-producers of the "American Crime Story", has tapped author Jeffrey Toobin to make use of his book for a future "ACS" season. The report states that the book that will be used is the author's "A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President".

This report could not be more timely as it was made just a few days after we get to see Bill and Hillary Clinton at Donald Trump's inauguration  and a few days before then former President Bill Clinton made the "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" statement in reference to Monica Lewinsky way back in 1998.

The Monica Lewinsky scandal may have been the biggest scandal in the 90s. The scandal nearly caused Clinton's US Presidency. The Lewinsky scandal has also been used to discredit Hillary Clinton and just recently, to veer away voters from considering Hillary for the US Presidency.

Also, according to CBSNEWS, "ACS" produces is also working on two more features. The first will be centered on the events after the hurricane Katrina in New Orleans which is under the working title of "Katrina". The second will be featuring the murder of Gianni Versace on 1997 which will be under the working title "Versace".

The recently concluded "America Crime Story" feature of "The People vs O.J. Simpson" has garnered great reviews and has generated quite the buzz. Season 1 of "The America Crime Story" garnered 10 Emmy wins.
