Game developer Supercell recently unveiled the next "Clash of Clans" update, which will stop support for Apple devices running lower than iOS 7.x. Current "Clash of Clans" players are encouraged to update their systems and devices to continue playing the hit mobile game.

Supercell announced that they must cease support for all Apple devices running on iOS versions lower than 7.x to cater the next "Clash of Clans" update. The game developer explained that they needed to end support due to technical reasons beyond their control. They advised current players to update their iOS to version 7.x or higher as soon as possible to continue enjoying "Clash of Clans." Otherwise, they will not be able to play the strategy game with the new update unless they upgrade their iOS or device.

Apple devices that cannot update to iOS 7.x or higher include the iPhone 3G S, iPad 1st generation and iPod Touch 3rd and 4th generation. Some Apple products initially launched with an iOS version lower than 7.x, but can be updated to higher versions, namely the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Mini 1st generation, and iPod Touch 5th generation. "Clash of Clan" players who own Apple devices that cannot be updated to iOS 7.x at least will need new products to continue playing "Clash of Clans."

The new "Clash of Clans" update is optional, writes Neurogadget. It will provide a few major improvements in overall game experience. The update also has bug fixes, such as the Clan Castle previously reporting errors and troops. The current winter theme in "Clash of Clans" will most likely be removed. The theme was launched in December 2016 for the Christmas holiday season.

"Clash of Clans" also featured two events in January 2017. The first is the Jump Spell promotion which reduced the Elixir cost to 2,300, based on the player's level. The second is the Wizard event, which encouraged players to use several Wizards.

The new "Clash of Clans" update is expected to streamline the memory, which explains why older Apple products can no longer be supported. "Clash of Clans" players who do not wish to upgrade their devices may choose not to update the game. More updates and details are expected soon.
