Jeremy Lin Recovery News and Updates: Linsanity Star to Miss Three to Five More Weeks; Team Could Turn to Brook Lopez

Nens Mitchell

With Jeremy Lin still out because of a re-injured hamstring, the Brooklyn Nets are maximizing the players they have left to perform well during their games. The Linsanity star is expected to miss a few more weeks to recover from his injury.

Brooke Lopez as alternative

Forbes said that the Nets could utilize other efficient players on the team like Brook Lopez, who is a go-to player of the team when they need to score points against an opponent. Lopez has kept himself healthy for two seasons and was also able to complete the All-Star game competition in 2013.

Having Lopez do what he does best will help the team win games even in the absence of Lin. The player has proven that he can average more than 20 points per game playing for only 29 minutes.

Re-injuring his hamstring

This move will aid in the performance of the team while they wait for Lin to fully recover. After missing a few games last year and coming back, Lin was again sidelined last Dec. 26 because he aggravated his hamstring injury.

According to ESPN, the Linsanity star may still miss around 3 to 5 weeks in the NBA to fully recover from his re-injured hamstring. On his Facebook page, Lin also expressed that he also needs to recover mentally from his injury.

Draining process

"There's something so draining about the yo-yo effect of going from injured to healthy to injured to healthy that in some ways it would have been easier to have an injury where I knew from the beginning I would be out for a long, set amount of time," he added. The Nets star player also noted that he did not rush returning when he first injured his hamstring last Nov. 2.

There is still no definite timeline on his return but the Nets are hoping that when he comes back, he is already 100 percent OK. When do you think Jeremy Lin can play basketball again?
