CBS Network released to the public the behind-the-scenes trailer for its new and upcoming TV show: "Star Trek: Discovery." The video lives up to its acceptation of being a teaser as anticipating fans are left hanging for what the show has to offer.

The video does not reveal much of what the series is going to be about. Nevertheless, the teaser does not disappoint either because it unveils the grandiose sets in which the series were to be shot, the elegant and sleek costumes (including the iconic Starfleet uniform among others), and the much-anticipated appearance of the spaceship "Discovery," the namesake of the series.

Ever since the successful reboot of the "Star Trek" franchise through the film of the same name directed by J.J. Abrams, there has been the clamor from fans, both old and young alike, to revive the popular 1960s series. This prompted the people from CBS to work on "Discovery" which has long been in the works, but, was somehow deferred on multiple occasions. Originally, it was conceived to be released in January 2017 but was, later on, moved to May of the same year, and then delayed further to an unknown and undisclosed date. As of this time, no premiere date has been set by the network.

What is known, however, is that the first episode of "Star Trek: Discover" will air on CBS, and following episodes to appear on the network's "All Access" digital subscription service. The show will star the following: James Frain who is most known for his role in "True Blood," "Dazed and Confused" cast Anthony Rapp, "Hell Boy's" Doug Jones, and the star of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," Michelle Yeoh. Bryan Fuller exited from the prospective series last year but he is still affiliated with the project as one of its executive producers.

Answering questions on the series' delay, a CBS representative said earlier that, "it's important to do this right than to do it fast. There is also added flexibility presenting on CBS All Access, which is not beholden to seasonal premieres or launch windows." Fans have been excited after the teaser has been released and have been watching out for details regarding the show with keen and hopeful anticipation. CBS is an affiliate of CBS Corporation.
