The increase in tablet demand has prompted companies to foray head on into this arena and capture the market share. To stay ahead in the tablet race, Google launched its Nexus 7 in July 2012.
Hand-in-hand with Asus, Google introduced its first tablet, Nexus 7, earlier this year. With a huge initial surge in sales, it seems that Nexus 7 has captured a chunk of the market share. However, with the reported issues will it lose its market to other rival tablets? Is Google Nexus 7 attractive enough to entice buyers or is it losing the race with the reported problems?

Here's a look at the top 5 niggling issues of the Nexus 7.
Loose Screen
Users report that the Nexus 7's screen is not attached securely, which causes creaking sounds to emanate from the device. Several users have also reported that the display comes apart from the bezel.
Charging Issues
The Nexus 7 is boosted by a 4326 mAh battery. A fully-charged battery is expected to last for several hours but some users report facing battery drainage and charging problems.
Limited Memory with No Additional Storage
Nexus 7 is packed with a 8/16GB internal storage capacity. However, the absence of an expandable memory is a major drawback, putting off users who would like to store a large amount of data in the device.
Only Wi-Fi Connectivity Option
The Nexus 7 is available only with a Wi-Fi connectivity option. No 3G or 4G connectivity is on offer. The absence of 3G or 4G connectivity is a turn-off for users who use the device while traveling.
Microphone
Many users on XDA forum have reported issues with the microphone. Some users on the forum have also reported that the Google Nexus support has acknowledged the microphone fault and replaced the faulty device.
"In the weeks after the Nexus 7 launched, traffic from the device spiked upwards of 1000%, and averaged between 0.6-0.8 impressions for every 100 on the iPad. Comparatively, the current second place tablet is Samsung's Galaxy Tab, which earns 2.5 impressions for every 100 on the iPad," reported TechRadar.
With several reported issues (coupled with competition from tablet players like Samsung and Apple) taking the shine off Google Nexus 7, it is anybody's guess whether the tablet will become a force to reckon with in the long term.
