"Origin PC is thrilled to be an official launch partner for another great Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics card," said Origin PC CEO and co-founder Kevin Wasielewski. "Increased performance with better power efficiency is just amazing, and adding the ability for 3-way SLI easily makes the GeForce GTX Ti the best value of any card on the market and quite possibly any graphics card ever made."
Nvidia announced the availability of its new GeForce GTX 660 Ti GPU in a press release on Thursday, Aug. 16, saying the new card is a dramatic upgrade for anyone using previous-generation graphics technology. Based on the 28-nanometer Kepler architecture, touted as the "world's fastest" and most efficient graphics architecture ever, Nvidia's new GPU is 41 percent faster on average than the GTX 560 Ti from 2011, and a whopping 58 percent faster than the 2010 GTX 470.
"In addition to providing impressive performance, the GTX 660 Ti is filled with features, such as full support for DirectX 11 tessellation, TXAA, and PhysX technologies and the ability to drive a 3+1 display configuration from a single card," said Nvidia. "Factor in the Kepler architecture's great efficiency and low thermal design power and the GTX 660 Ti assures gamers of having the most stable, quiet and power-efficient gaming experience possible in its price class."
Nvidia's new GeForce GTX 660 Ti GPU will also be available from add-in card suppliers such as ASL, ASUS, EVGA, ECS, Galaxy, Gainward, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, Leadtek, Jetway, MSI, Point of View, Palit, Sparkle, PNY, and Zotak. Moreover, for a limited time, customers who purchase a GTX 660 Ti GPU from a participating retailer or e-tailer will also receive a voucher for a free copy of Gearbox Software's upcoming Borderlands 2, due to launch next month. Meanwhile, those interested in purchasing a pre-built gaming rig with Nvidia's new GPU can customize their rig on Origin PC's Web site.
