Xbox Games with Gold vs. PlayStation Plus February 2017: Free Games Comparison and Verdict
It's now month number two of 2017, which means that members of Microsoft's Xbox Games with Gold and Sony's PlayStation Plus programs are now in for some brand new set of free games. Both lineups have already been fully revealed, which now begs the question of which programs comes out on top for giving out the best free games for February 2017.
For the past few months, Microsoft's Xbox Games with Gold program has been dishing out some pretty awesome titles, which is why it has been declared as the winner for the past couple of months. It goes without saying that Sony's PlayStation Plus free games have been quite decent as well, but the games just weren't good enough to beat Microsoft's offerings.
February 2017 Games with Gold Free Games:
For Games with Gold members, "Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime" will be available from Feb. 1 to Feb. 28 on the Xbox One. It will be followed by "Project Cars Digital Edition" from Feb. 16 to March 15. For Xbox 360 owners, the first game will be "Monkey Island 2: Special Edition," which will be available from Feb. 1 to Feb. 15. It will then be followed by "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" from Feb. 16 to Feb. 28. Both Xbox 360 titles will, of course, be available for the Xbox One console thanks to Microsoft's Backwards Compatibility feature.
February 2017 PlayStation Plus Free Games:
PlayStation Plus members will be getting a bit more games this month with a total of five games out of the six titles being playable on the PlayStation 4. "LittleBigPlanet 3" and "Not a Hero" will be available for the PlayStation 4, while "Starwhal" is available for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4. PlayStation 3 owners also get "Anna: Extended Edition" for their platform. PlayStation Vita players, on the other hand, will be getting "Ninja Senki DX" and "TorqueL."
Verdict for Best February 2017 Free Game titles
While "LittleBigPlanet 3" and "Not a Hero" are both solid offerings, they don't really compare to the big name games Microsoft is offering this month. Both "Monkey Island 2" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" are big name titles that are hard to beat, which means that Microsoft still wins this month's contest of which program is offering the best free games. Hopefully, Sony will realize this and offer some better games next month.
