Great shows do not require much time for a renewal and "Narcos" definitely displays the qualities of a great show. Without any surprise, Netflix chose to renew the popular TV crime drama series for a third and fourth instalment. "Narcos" season 3 is reportedly going to focus on the Cali Cartel in the upcoming season instead of depicting the life of the notorious Pablo Escobar. So, there are a few changes in the series which includes the cast. This keeps "Narcos" thinking of whether Boyd Holbrooks will reprise his role as Steve Murphy or not.

Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrooks) is not applicable for "Narcos" Season 3: Here's Why

As per the real life scenario, Steve Murphy had returned back to the US after busting Pablo Escobar. This builds up doubts in the minds of many whether Murphy will be continued in "Narcos" third season or not. Even Holbrooks seemingly confirmed that he will not make an appearance for the upcoming "Narcos" season.

According to reports, Boyd Holbrooks is busy promoting his upcoming film "Logan."However, reporters did get a chance to ask him about the future of the popular crime drama series. Holbrooks replied back with a statement confirming that "Narcos" season 3 is currently shooting, but he is not coming back to take up his role again.

But, it was Pedro Pascal who is currently shooting for season 3. The actor portrays the popular character Javier Peña in it. The actor was reportedly seen shooting a scene for the future season where he chased a suspect and captured him. Pascal even uploaded a selfie on Instagram with co-star Miguel Angel Silvestre to tease fans for "Narcos" season 3.

Anyhow, Holbrooks didn't give any details about the show, but now we have a confirmation that we will not be seeing Steve Murphy back in "Narcos" season 3. Looking at the real life facts based on the story, it does make sense too.

With Boyd working on promoting for probably the biggest movie in his career, we have to wait and see where "Narcos" will take us from here for the upcoming season. It was Steven Murphy who had narrated the first two seasons for the show, so we will have to see who does it for the future season.

Be sure to check out more "Narcos" season 3 updates coming soon.
