Microsoft To Release 2 Surface Devices In 2017: Surface Book 2 & Surface Pro 5?
Although the popularity of tablets has declined significantly since Apple launched the iPad, tech companies have no plans of abandoning the market segment. Apple is reportedly launching the iPad Pro 2 and Samsung the Galaxy Tab S3, while Microsoft is speculated to release two Surface gadgets in 2017.
Surface Pro 5 Versus Surface Book 2
These are the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Book 2. While tech websites are now comparing the speculated Apple iPad Pro 2 and the Surface Pro 5, it seems there is also a potential battle between the two Surface gadgets.
Although Microsoft has not officially announced the Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Book 2, a lot of the tech websites have published details of the specs are based on leaked information for the Surface Pro 5 and specs of the current Surface Book i7. For the Surface Pro 5, the device is rumored to run on Intel Kaby Lake processor and have an 8GB RAM.
Since it is a Microsoft device, the Surface Pro 5 would run on the Redstone OS, while it would sport a 12.3-inch Pixel Sense screen which would be available in two variants – a 2K display and a 4K display. The tablet would come with the Surface Pen.
3 Processors, 3 Prices
But Science Times writes that the Surface Pro 5 would have three brands of processors that would determine its price. If the upcoming tablet would use the Kaby Lake processor, the tag price would begin from $899, while it would be $999 if the device would run on Intel Core i7 and $1,500 if the i7 Extreme Version.
The Surface Pro 5 is speculated to release in spring 2017, while the Surface Book 2 has a dodgy release date, according to IBT Australia. Even the specs have not been leaked, so the basis of the website are the specs of the current Surface Book i7 which include a 13.5-inch screen with a resolution of 3,000 x 2,000 pixels. It would have an integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 GPU.
