Bethesda Games Studios has confirmed that they will be making "Elder Scrolls 6." The bad news is that it may be a while before we actually get to see the game. Bethesda executive Pete Hines confirmed "Elder Scrolls 6" via a Tweet last August 2016.

He was also quick to clarify in the same tweet that the game was not in development during that time. In a later interview with GameStar, he revealed 2017 and 2018 weren't viable release years for "Elder Scrolls 6" either.

'Elder Scrolls 6' Confirmed

The first "official" confirmation for "Elder Scrolls 6" was announced on Pete Hines Twitter page. In a reply to PC Games N, Hines tweeted that Bethesda would be making ES6 "eventually," but it wasn't currently in development. He finished the Tweet by stating that he didn't "want people to be misled." This was back in 2016.

'Elder Scrolls 6' Already Under Development?

It's 2017 now, and fans are hopeful for an "Elder Scrolls 6" update. Is there a chance the game could already be in development?

Sadly, it seems like it'll take a while before Bethesda prioritizes ES6. According to Express UK, Hines confirmed in an interview with GameStar that "Elder Scrolls 6" wouldn't be shown during Gamescom 2017 or Gamescom 2018. In the interview, which you can watch here, Hines says that "there are at least two big games from Bethesda Games Studio before we get around to 'Elder Scrolls 6'."

IGN last year reported that Bethesda was working on three new projects, and that "Elder Scrolls 6" was likely the third. It now looks like Bethesda is adamant about getting those first two projects out, although they're not giving any details regarding what these two projects are.

In a more recent interview with IGN, just this February 2017 in fact, director Todd Howard gave an update on the studios' current projects. He once again referenced the two mystery projects, stating they were "bigger than anything we've done," and that they were "kind of different," but still associable with Bethesda Games.

It looks like hopeful fans will just have to wait until 2019, as it looks like "Elder Scrolls 6" is stepping back from the limelight for a while. In the meantime, Bethesda has already announced that a version of "Elders Scrolls 5: Skyrim" for the Nintendo Switch is already under development. No release date has been revealed, but it's definitely something to look forward to.
