'Assassin's Creed Empire' Coming Late 2017; 'Rainbow Six Siege' Easter Egg Uncovered Hints Feudal Japan As Next Setting

Ubisoft has revealed its plans to release a new "Assassin's Creed" game speculated to be called "Assassin's Creed Empire" in late 2017. And this early, the game developer may already be dropping hints of what's to come in the next entry to the franchise.

Previous reports indicated that the next game setting for "Assassin's Creed Empire" will be in Egypt. This widespread speculation further purports that the main protagonist in the upcoming title will be an ex-slave.

However, a Reddit user has uncovered a new easter egg recently while playing "Rainbow Six Siege" that suggests a different location. According to the redditor named Flower Rennaisance, the easter egg spotted showed a Samurai with the "A" icon associated as the "Assassin's Creed" game badge. The leaker further shared a screenshot to prove this easter egg he actually saw then.

Thus, "Assassin's Creed" fans might be looking at a plausible return to feudal Japan as the next setting contrary to earlier reports saying it will take place in Egypt. It is noted how hardcore and seasoned gamers of Ubisoft's popular series wanted the game to go back to its roots and reexplore ancient Asia.

But fans must not get their hopes up just yet that Japan will be the next location just yet. It can be recalled that the company's creative director previously stated a mission set wholly in Japan apparently would be a bad idea as its grave familiarity will bore the players, The Sun reported.

"Assassin's Creed Empire" was reportedly launching last year, however, Ubisoft decided not to release an AC game in 2016.  The game publisher, in its most recent announcement, hints its release this year instead across Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC platforms .
