‘Pillars Of Eternity 2’ Campaign Raises $3 Million; New Feature Teased [VIDEO]

The "Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" crowdfunding campaign is continuing to soar. Reports claim that it has now made more than $3 million on Fig, the crowdfunding site.

It only took under 23 hours for "Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" to hit its $1.1 million goal. As per Fig, a crowdfunding site where people can pledge for rewards or actually invest in a game and receive equity, the game has attracted over 27,000 backers as of this writing.

Funding is said to be split almost equally between investments amounting to $1.4 million from those seeking equity in the project alongside Fig Game Shares and the traditional crowdfunding amounting to $1.58 million. The campaign will conclude on February 24.

Obsidian Entertainment, the game's developer, said thanks to all of fans, backers and investors for helping the team reach its most astonishing milestone of $3 million dollars on its update. According to the developer, the campaign logged the most backers in Fig history.

Moreover, Obsidian teased that it has a "big announcement about a really important, super cool, and heretofore extremely hush-hush game feature" which they will unveil soon, GameSpot details. Additionally, they announced that they are going to include two new rewards to their several backer tiers. Both are said to feature the unofficial pet mascot of "Pillars of Eternity," the Space Pig.

The game is said to retain what people have enjoyed the first "Pillars of Eternity." "Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" is the direct sequel of the 2015 title, which is a computer role-playing game. Polygon reports that the original was notable not only for its length and narrative complexity, but also for being one of the biggest Kickstarter success stories.

The players will reportedly see and feel true living cities and have more freedom to explore the open world in"Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire." Obsidian also teased that he game will give its players the ability to more entirely define and play the role they wish.
