'Justice League' Movie Update: Zack Snyder Releases New Aquaman Underwater Footage
Charles LimWith the latest installment in the DC Extended Universe movie franchise, "Justice League," already set for its premiere later this year, the movie's director, Zack Snyder, has now teased fans with some new footage. Interestingly, the new footage gives fans their first look at Aquaman's realm and how he actually swims underwater.
The brief underwater footage was shared by the director through a post on his official Twitter account. The video, via IGN, shows Jason Momoa's Aquaman swimming towards another character wielding what looks to be a trident. The surrounding background is full of corals and underwater creatures, which indicates that it could be the lost city of Atlantis.

The footage itself looks to be taken from a studio's editing bay, which means that Snyder may be in the process of editing and refining the underwater shots for Aquaman's different scenes. The upcoming "Justice League" movie is expected to pave the way for Momoa's upcoming "Aquaman" solo film, which is slated to be released in October 2018.
The new "Aquaman" movie will be directed by James Wan and will be set in the superhero's underwater kingdom of Atlantis. The movie will solely be focusing on the character's background and his fight with the Ocean Master, to be played by Patrick Wilson.
As for the upcoming "Justice League" movie, it will be featuring the team-up of some of the DC's most popular superheroes, including Momoa's Aquaman, Batman, played by Ben Affleck, Superman, played by Henry Cavill, Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, The Flash, played by Ezra Miller, and Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher.
The movie will also star Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, .K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta. While it isn't yet officially mentioned, a report from Coming Soon reveals that the movie is expected to star Ciarán Hinds as the villain Steppenwolf.
The "Justice League" movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on Nov. 17.
