New 'Avatar' Video Game In Development Using 'The Division' Snowdrop Engine; An AAA Project By Massive and Ubisoft

Ubisoft looks unstoppable in producing great video games over the years. And now, it marks another new milestone as it enters a partnership with Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Interactive in bringing a new Avatar game to life.

The game publisher has announced this news just recently and take pride in creating an innovative new Avatar game set to be launched on gaming consoles and PC platforms. Basically, it will be hugely based on James Cameron's film and feature the idyllic yet perilous moon Pandora.  

Further, Ubisoft also confirmed that Massive Entertainment, the Ubisoft studio behind the development of  "The Division" will spearhead in the creation of this big project, which now seems to be in early stage of production.

The team will also be using the iconic Snowdrop Engine for this new title. Apparently, this is the same engine technology that explains the gorgeous visual graphics of "The Division". 

Since Cameron's film is currently worked on three new "Avatar" films for subsequent releases in the future, it is expected that the game will also expand the Avatar universe that go nicely with these movies.  

"With the power of Massive's Snowdrop game engine and the team's passion and obsessive focus on detail, we know they're the right group to bring the beauty and danger of Pandora to life," Cameron himself said in the announcement video shown at the bottom. 

Many are already anticipating that this new game will be huge and an AAA title that will entertain, especially those that are huge fans of the movie. Given that its development will be handled by Massive Entertainment, it's quite a factor to guarantee its success as an AAA project.

The new "Avatar" game has no release window as of yet but it is set to hits Xbox One, PS4 and PC hardware. Perhaps, gamers can look forward to a trailer at E3 2017. In the meantime, watch the announcement video below.
