Phil Spencer is hinting a possible Xbox Scorpio reveal on the Pre-E3 event. Here is what we know so far about the upcoming console about its price, and specs among others.

This year is a year for the consoles. Aside from the release of the hybrid console Nintendo Switch on March 3, the highly anticipated Xbox Project Scorpio is also expected to be launched and released this year. There are still much that we have to know about the upcoming Project Scorpio, a beefed up Xbox One with VR capabilities.

Microsoft's response to PlayStation 4 Pro still has not been shown off in public. At present, we have no idea what games will support it will support or what it will look like. However, a recent interview on IGN's Unlocked podcast gave fans something to feast on. Xbox head Phil Spencer provided a little more information on when we can expect to see the much-awaited Xbox Project Scorpio.

The podcast lasted for an hour and the good folks at the NeoGAF forums have written up the most important details from the Microsoft executive's interview. Interestingly, Spencer hints at a major reveal ahead of the Electronic Entertainment Expo for the new console instead of revealing it at the show itself. It simply means that most likely we will see Xbox Project Scorpio prior to Microsoft's E3 press briefing on June 11.

The hint makes so much sense as it can be remembered that both the Xbox One and PS4 were launched at similar standalone events in 2013. Most probably, Microsoft can reveal to us what the Xbox Project Scorpio looks like, or maybe give us an idea of what it can do. Perhaps it can even disclose the price or the release date before E3.

The Xbox Project Scorpio is anticipated to launch in the 2017 holiday season. Repeatedly, PhilSpencer referred to the upcoming console as a premium device for players who are interested in increased teraflops and 4K resolution. According to MIC, since it is going to be the most powerful home console ever made, it is expected to cost at least not more than the PS4 Pro's $400 price tag.
