The latest version of Android OS known as the Android O is now in its developer's preview. The developer assures awaiting consumers of more features coming, however, for now here are what the team has already come up.

According to David Burke, Google VP of Engineering, there are still loads of things to work out with the latest Android O OS. Since the latest developers preview is already available, the team is expecting users to try the OS with their apps so they could get feedback on the features they introduced. At present, the latest OS will initially introduce a list of fresh features and latest API for users to try.

Among the interesting features with the latest Android O include the Notification Channels. These latest app-defined clusters for notification content allow developers to provide to users control on various kinds of notifications. Among them includes users ability to block or alter the behavior of every channel individually instead of controlling all the notification from the apps altogether. In addition, Android O introduces new visuals to make the notifications easier to use and view when there is an incoming message.

Another feature of the Android O that is very interesting is the Background Limits. This feature although not directly interfaced by the user is a massive move that could essentially save battery life. This feature just performs what its name tells; it put limits on the apps running on the background on three major areas. These areas are background services, location updates and implicit broadcasts. These areas will all be automatically restricted by Androidme. In addition, this will also aid developers in making apps that do not exhaust your battery life.

This latest developers preview of Android O is now available in the official Android emulator. For users who would like to try it on hardware, they need to download it and flash their devices. According to Google, this can be downloaded by devices like Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5x, Nexus 6P and Nexus Player.
