Sony Xperia XZs Release Date

Sony is gearing up to launch its Xperia XZs smartphone in India on April 4, and Japanese handset maker is leaving no stone unturned in setting the stage for the upcoming device. Lining with this, Sony has already sent out invites for the event.

The original version of the upcoming smartphone debuted alongside a slew of other Sony handsets including XZ Premium, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra at this year's MWC (Mobile World Congress) in February. The device's high-end variant is not too far away from its launch, too. But what aces does Microsoft have up its sleeve for its next smartphone?

Sony Xperia XZs Specs & Features

The Xperia XZs is a premium device that runs on Google's latest mobile OS (operating system), Android Nougat. It sports a 5.2-inch Full-HD TRILUMINOS display, shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass, TheVerge reported.

Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor will be powering up the Sony Xperia XZs. It packs 4GB of RAM with 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. The storage can be further expanded up to a considerable 256GB via microSD card, according to TheIndianExpress.

In the photography front, the Sony Xperia XZs uses a 19MP Motion Eye camera equipped with 5-axis stabilization technology and Exmor RS sensor. Thanks to the device's Motion Eye rear camera, users can shoot 960fps super slow-mo videos. The Xperia XZs' front shooter is 13MP and has f/2.0 aperture and 22mm wide-angle lens.

Moreover, the Xperia XZs boasts a fingerprint scanner and packs a robust 2,900mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology and Qnovo Adaptive charging. The smartphone will be up for grabs in three color variants including Blue, Warm Silver, and Black when it launches next month, according to GSM Arena. The Sony Xperia XZs offers a slew of options in terms of connectivity including USB Type-C, NFC, Google Cast, DLNA Certified, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi Miracast, and A-GNSS (GPS + GLONASS).

The three aforementioned smartphones are unlikely to arrive in India in near future. The Xperia XZ was launched in the country bearing a steep price tag of INR 51,990 (about $800). There's no word regarding exactly how Sony might decide to price its successor, the Xperia XZs in India.
