Razer has now announced the 2017 version of their highly popular ultra gaming laptop, the Razer Blade Pro. The new laptop isn't really an all new device, but instead is simply an upgraded version of the late 2016 model. The upgrades of however are hefty ones, as the device now sports the seventh generation Intel Core i7 processor. One of the biggest upgrades as well is in the laptop's sound output hardware, which now officially comes with a THX certification.

The 2017 Razer Blade Pro is officially the world's first THX-certified laptop. This basically means that the laptop has undergone a rigorous process to ensure that it passes the best quality audio and video standards in the market. THX is a high-fidelity audio and video standards company that were originally founded by "Star Wars" creator George Lucas back in 1983.

The company is currently owned by Razer, which means that it would only make sense for their products to be the first ones to certify. According to CNET, Razer had to make a number of physical changes to their audio output hardware to ensure that it passed the strict THX standards. This includes improvements to the audio jack's voltage output, distortion reduction, frequency response, signal-to-noise ratio, and crosstalk. All of these improvements results in crystal clear sounds making it through a user's headphones.

As previously mentioned, the 2017 Razer Blade Pro sports the latest generation Core i7 processor, specifically the Core i7-7820HK. However, Razer has chosen to overclock the chip in order to squeeze out some additional performance, as per The Verge. The 32 GB of RAM has also been sped up and now hums at 2,667 MHz. The laptop sports the same Nvidia GeForce 1080 GPU as before, which is still one of its biggest highlights.

The super-thin GTX 1080-equipped laptop will start shipping next month. The 2017 Razer Blade Pro will start at a whopping $3,999 for the base model in the US, but prices may vary in other territories.
