Smartphone enthusiasts have been waiting with bated breath for the arrival of Apple iPhone 8, which is expected to boast an array of jaw-dropping improvements including brand new OLED display panels and wireless charging to name a few.

Veteran analysts have been churning out all sorts of speculations around Apple's next iPhone citing unnamed sources in the company's supply chain. As a result, smartphone enthusiasts already have an idea of what could be in the offing this September, when the Cupertino-based tech behemoth is rumored to unveil the long-awaited iPhone 8.

Over the past few years, Apple has not deviated from what looks like an easy-to-foretell pattern of iPhone launches. Ideally, zealous iPhone fanatics head into September hoping to catch a glimpse of a 4.7-inch iPhone and a larger 5.5-inch iPhone Plus model. Alternatively, they are treated to a handset like the iPhone SE, which is made only once.

This year, though, Apple is likely to take the mobile phone realm by storm with three different models which comprise a high-end iPhone packed with a bunch of cutting-edge technologies, according to CNBC's Technology Product Editor, Todd Haselton. Aside from a regular 4.7-inch iPhone, and a 5.5-inch iPhone Plus, Apple could be gearing up to launch another device, which many allude to either as the iPhone 8, the iPhone Anniversary Edition or the iPhone X.

No prizes for guessing, the mystery device stirred conversations among optimistic iPhone fans regarding its release date, specs and other details. The purported iPhone device is rumored to feature a colossal 5.8-inch panel -- the largest yet for an iPhone.

Aside from that, the iPhone 8 is expected to feature wireless charging capability, USB Type-C port, new OLED display panels and lots more. While the next iPhone is expected to deliver several firsts for Apple, a report from BGR suggests it might also be the first ever iPhone in the tech firm's history to support two SIM cards, if not more.

While Apple has kept the iPhone 8 features under wraps, the publication points to an official documentation that shows the company's burgeoning interest in handsets that could support multiple SIM cards. Moreover, the website suggests iPhone 8 would be at the top of the list of devices that could come equipped with such functionality. There's a possibility that the Apple Watch might be included on that list too.

Apple iPhone 8 Price

With multiple sources hinting at a bunch of never-before-seen features for the next iPhone, the question on everyone's mind now is whether the iPhone 8 will carry a dizzying price tag. And much to the chagrin of budget-conscious consumers, it looks like the premium iPhone 8 model could come bearing a price tag of more than $1000.

A previously surface report from Fast Company suggested that Apple is hard at works on a new iPhone featuring a 5.8-inch OLED display panel, which will cost more than a whopping $1000, while other models including the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will not come with the new panels. However, analyst Steven Milunovich from UBS debunked the claim later stating that just the 256GB storage model of the iPhone 8 may cost roughly about $950 - $1000.

Apple iPhone 8 Release Date

While multiple sources continue pointing to a September launch for the Apple iPhone 8, a new report coming from Korea suggests the iPhone 8 release date has been postponed to a later date due to technical issues linked with lamination process of curved OLED panels and execution of a 3D sensing system.

Apple has neither confirmed nor denied these rumors, meaning, readers should take them with a huge grain of salt. Watch this space for more Apple iPhone-related news and updates!
