Looks like budget-conscious buyers who have been restlessly waiting to get their hands on a new Windows 10 PC will soon have something to shout about.

Microsoft's Windows 10 OS (operating system) propelled to popularity among users looking to work efficiently even when on the move in no time. The latest software boasts an array of awe-inspiring features including the ability to work on several devices, thanks to its cloud working feature. In other words, a user can start working on his/her home device; continue it on a mobile device when on the move, and then finally their work laptop.

The Redmond-based tech titan is reportedly hard at works on the next generation of its Surface Pro device, with the previous Surface Pro 4 launched on Oct. 2015; meaning a Surface Pro upgrade is long overdue. That being said, a new contender has arrived for those looking to get hold of a Windows 10 device with utmost portability; however, it might not be exactly from who you think.

China-based digital electronic products maker, Chuwi offers a possible alternative to the high-priced premium Windows 10 devices, including the Surface Pro 4, Express reported. The audaciously-dubbed SurBook offers an economical alternative to Microsoft device, with identical all-metal build complete with a fold-out back kickstand.

Aside from that, the SurBook is housed in a Surface Pro 4-like aluminum body and comes with a detachable keyboard, and stylus. As if that weren't enough, it does a take-off in terms of screen specs as well with a 12.3-inch display at a 2,736 x 1,824-pixel resolution, according to DigitalTrends.

Under the hood; however, the SurBook packs an Intel Apollo Lake processor, while the Surface Pro runs on an Intel core m and Core i processors. For those unaware, the Intel Apollo Lake processor is the cheaper substitute to the popular chip maker's seventh-generation Kaby Lake processors.

Chuwi is on the verge of launching a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo and is currently looking to hand out a couple of devices under an early promotion for somebody who can recommend an advantageous feature.

In addition, the SurBook packs 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and a robust 10,000mAh battery. Chuwi shared additional specifications with ZDNet, tipping off a microSD slot, a 5MP rear camera, and a 2MP front snapper.

There's a USB Type-C port, along with a couple of full-sized USB 3.0 ports, a mini HDMI port, and the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. The SurBook offers quite a few options in terms of connectivity including Bluetooth, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The device will be running Windows 10 Redstone operating system.
