The announcement of Nokia Lumia 920 was not accompanied by a price for it and Nokia's Lumia 820, the mid-range Windows Phone 8 device. Following Nokia's event, European pricing for the phone released from third- and first-party sources, and is now accompanied by pricing for the French consumer market.

Phonehouse.fr, a French phone retailer, is opening pre-orders for the Lumia 920 and the smartphone is priced at €649.90 (approximately $840). The device is unsubsidized and SIM-free, and according to Phonehouse, will ship by the end of October, possibly Oct. 29. Both the Lumia 920 and 820 offer wireless charging and the first 200 pre-orders are bundled with a Fatboy wireless charging pillow.
The unconfirmed pricing was corroborated by Nokia Italy; however it released a press release which divulged that the Lumia 920 will be priced at €599 ($882) and Lumia 820, the mid-range phone in the Windows Phone 8 Lumia series, is priced at €499 ($643).
Nokia Germany also announced the pricing in a press release, confirming a release date. In Germany, the Lumia 920 will be available for €649, more expensive than Italy, while Lumia 820 is priced at €499. Russian pricing converts to approximately $800 in Russia, at 25,000 rubles. The Nokia's devices are high-end in terms of pricing, though most consumers will likely buy the devices on contract.
Both the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 drew positive reactions at debut. The devices were praised for combining a striking design and competitive internals. Features include the "PureView" camera technology and business search via augmented reality. Nokia recently confirmed the cyan model alongside Lumia 920's AT&T launch.
Whether the prices in the U.S. can convert directly to European prices remains to be seen. Perhaps, Nokia needs to differentiate on design, alongside price, due to the majority of consumers using on-contract devices.
Windows Phone 8 launches on Oct. 29 worldwide. However, Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 are yet to receive a confirmed release date.
