Amazon jumped on to the gaming bandwagon in August this year with the launch of Amazon Game Studios. The Seattle-based e-retailing giant kicked off its campaign with the game "Living Classics" for Facebook, and now Amazon Game Studios has launched "Air Patriots," its first mobile-focused game.

"Following the release of Amazon's first-ever social game, Living Classics, Amazon Game Studios today announced the availability of "Air Patriots," its first-ever game for mobile devices," noted the press release

Air Patriots is a free-to-play strategy game and will be available on Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD, Android devices, iPhone, and iPad.

"When we created Air Patriots we wanted to make a game that was easy and engaging, and the simplicity of drawing paths for planes was something we thought would appeal to players," said Ernie Ramirez, Executive Producer at Amazon Game Studios. "We think customers will find Air Patriots both familiar and fresh, with a degree of challenge that keeps them engaged and enthused to play more. We are very excited to bring Amazon customers Air Patriots today, and Amazon Game Studios looks forward to bringing our fans even more great games in the future."

Air Patriots is a tower defense game that requires strategic positioning of several planes in order to push back an enemy tank invasion. In Air Patriots, players "directly control a squadron of military planes by using their finger to draw the paths the planes will follow in order to engage the enemy."

Additionally, the game also taps into Amazon's GameCircle social platform on Kindle Fire, letting the device's owners track achievements, scores, and enabling them to compete for strategic dominion.

The flexible gameplay and the dynamic mechanics of Air Patriots will engage players with plenty of challenges, even after the novelty factor wears off. Air Patriots is now available for download on Google Play, Amazon's App store, and on the Apple App Store for free.
