Halo 4 release date is set for November 6, and so far reviews of the game have been impressive. While Halo 4 is making the rounds, 343 Industries is already making plans to create Halo 5 for the Xbox 720, the 2nd game in the new trilogy.

On Wednesday October 31, Frank O'Connor, the Halo 4 franchise director, was asked about the development of Halo 5, to which he replied that 343 Industries has already begun some technological and story telling work on the Xbox 720 game. He didn't state when gamers should expect to play Halo 5. However, it is highly likely the game will make its way to Microsoft's Xbox 720 not too long after the console is launched.
"We've done as much prototyping and storytelling and the future arc of the universe as we have on technology.
"So we're definitely working on the future but in some ways it's technologically agnostic at this point.
"We definitely have a lot of smart people inside the studio and outside the studio thinking about future technology and future development for sure," O'Connor said.
It comes as no surprise that 343 Industries has already begun some development work on Halo 5 for the Xbox 720. While Frank O'Connor didn't truly specify which console Halo 5 is in development for, it would be unlikely for Microsoft to throw another Halo game at the Xbox 360 when the Xbox 720 is just a year or two away from being released.
Gamers can only hope 343 Industries continues to develop great Halo titles well after Halo 4. Reviews of the game so far have been splendid; some reviewers went as far as to say Halo 4 is the best Halo game yet. Whatever the case though, Halo 5 is bound for the next gen console, and gamers can't wait to get their hands on it.
