Samsung said its 75-inch ES9000 LED TV "ultra-premium" television is its best to date, and the company now wants to share the story behind it.
The $9,999 TV set has caught the eye of consumers worldwide with its carefully crafted design and its impressive capabilities. Aiming to fuel that interest, Samsung has even made a video to tell the story behind the set's attractive design.
The video features behind-the-scenes tales of the design process, described by many of the people who worked on the gadget. The ES9000's design, according to the video, was selected from a pool of as many as 15,000 drawings. Meanwhile, the signature "rose gold" color was apparently created after "24,000 hours of tireless effort."
"This is the design story about how Samsung ES9000 has been created as a true premium smart TV to win the hearts of everyone," reads the video description.
"A luxury product that several experts created together with a sense of craftsmanship" - that's how principal designer Yoonsoo Kim describes the product, and how he hopes people will remember it.
Aside from the rose gold blush finish, the 75-inch ES9000 TV set features a super-slim, 0.31-inch curved bezel with no visible seams, which left many consumers in awe of how thin it is for its size. The set weighs 109.5 pounds with the stand, and 97 pounds without it. It may not suit everyone's budget, but it does offer one of the most elegant ways to play Angry Birds.
In terms of connectivity, Samsung's ES9000 comes with three HDMI ports, three USB ports, built-in wireless LAN, one digital audio out (optical), one RF in (terrestrial/cable input), one DVI audio in (mini jack), one audio out (mini jack), one Ethernet port (LAN), one Component in (Y/Pb/Pr), two Composite in (AV, one Common use for Component Y), and MHL.
Just like Samsung's other Smart TV offerings, the ES9000 comes with a camera and microphone for voice, gesture recognition, and video conferencing. Additionally, the TV set also offers content apps such as Netflix and other options so users can view streaming even with other devices via DLNA and WiFi Direct.
