More bad news for all the 'Sniper' fans in the world as City Interactive, per reports, has confirmed that the company's upcoming game will be delayed by two months. The company will hopefully release its stealth-based first-person shooter title 'Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2' on Mar. 12, 2013.
The title was earlier delayed from August 2012 to October 2012, and then to January 2013 before the developer stated that it would be releasing somewhere in the first quarter of 2013.
Although the reasons for the new delay are currently unknown, distributor Namco Bandai told VideoGamer.com that "polish is key to the title's success" while discussing the game's previous delay.
"Considering how buggy the original was, we can't blame the developer for wanting to be extra careful this time around. But now it's getting ridiculous," Gamingbolt wrote.
Powered by Crytek's CryEngine 3, 'Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2' promises to be better in every aspect when compared to its less famous predecessor. Moreover, now if the game actually ends up on the store shelves in March, it can expect to face a lot of stiff competition from rival game developers.
A March release for 'Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2' will see the game pitted against the other big players in the industry across all platforms like 'Tomb Raider,' 'SimCity,' 'Gears of War: Judgment' and 'God of War: Ascension.'
"Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 takes the bulls-eye precision of its 2 million plus best-selling predecessor to new and exciting heights. The only multi-platform FPS modern shooter exclusively designed around the sniper experience and built using the most advanced game engine in CryENGINE3," the official page states.
"The missions of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 are graphically stunning and provide more diverse sniper challenges. Feel the kill as you experience unprecedented levels of realism in weapons, ballistics and environmental factors."
The game will let players take control of Private Security Consultant Captain Cole Anderson in various missions around the world including urban fighting in Sarajevo, tropical jungles in Burma and the mountains of Tibet.
'Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2' is set to offer realistic ballistics that will take into account the player's exact location in the game, with wind speed and direction, breathing rate and distance from the target.
