The Samsung Galaxy S4 is finally here with its new features and specifications, so what happens to the previous two popular Samsung-based smartphones – Galaxy S3 and Note 2? As expected, they are set to be offered for a low price.
Currently, Amazon is offering both Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 at a subsidized price, making it even easier than ever to acquire for anyone who has been looking forward to these devices, according to reports.
“What better time to snag a deal on last year’s top devices than with the next rendition being unveiled in a few more hours. Starting today, Amazon Wireless is hosting a penny deal on Galaxy S3 phones through Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, but if the Galaxy Note 2 is more your size, you can pick one up on AT&T or Sprint for $149.99 or $69.99,” Droid Life writes.
Probably, the biggest discount that’s happening on Amazon is for the Galaxy S3 on Verizon, which Amazon is making easy for potential buyers by reducing the price to just one cent on-contract, and this, particularly is a good deal owing to the fact that the price is down from around $70. Sprint’s Galaxy S3 also sports the same offer, although it already had that price, and AT&T’s S3 has also dropped from near $80 down to $50.
As far as the Galaxy Note 2 is concerned, Sprint, once again, is offering an amazing deal by lowering the price of the phablet from about $100 to $70, and although the AT&T-based Note 2 costs a bit more, it may seem to many as an even larger discount, falling from $200 to $150.
For those who are involved with the excitement surrounding the arrival of the Galaxy S4, as a reminder, the Galaxy S3 is powered by Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon 1.5GHz Dual-core Processor. It has a 4.8-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1280-by-720 pixels, and the device is housed in a shell that is 8.6 millimeters thick and weighs 133 grams.
The Note 2, on the other hand, has a 5.5-inch 720P display powered by the latest HD Super AMOLED Plus technology, with Samsung’s Exynos 1.6 Ghz quad-core processor running. It has a rear facing 8-megapixel camera with video and flash, and a 1.9-megapixel for video chats and self portraits.
