The launch of Samsung's Galaxy S4 brought out so many new and amazing features for the people who are planning to buy the newly released smartphone; however people, who are already using the Galaxy S3 handsets, are caught in the middle as they bought the phone just a year back and can't sell it off.

Don't lose heart dear S3 users; here is something which will make your weekend very special.

According to a Samsung official, the Galaxy S3 will soon get Galaxy S4-like features with the next software update, and will be able get a feel an S4-like feel on their S3 devices.

Nick DiCarlo, Samsung's vice president of portfolio planning, spoke to PCMag on sidelines of the Galaxy S4 launch event and revealed that Galaxy S3 will see the software improvements what Galaxy S4 features.

"Anything that we can do that's not dependent on hardware like infrared, we'll definitely bring to all the flagship devices," PCMag quoted him as saying.

The display and the camera strength of the Galaxy S3 cannot be changed for obvious reasons, but at the same time the applications like S Health and TV remote will also not be coming to S3 devices as they require pedometer and Infra Red port respectively as hardware support.

The software update we are talking about here is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which has not been rolled out for Galaxy S3 devices, but Galaxy S4 will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box whenever it reaches the hands of its users.

Here we analyze and try to make a list of tentative features Galaxy S3 can get with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update:

Dual Camera: Galaxy S4's camera has become the most talked about part of the phone and maximum number of features coming with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean to Galaxy S3 will be camera related. The Dual Camera feature lets the user use both the camera at the same time with picture-in-picture or split screen display options.

Smart Pause: This feature is more of a user interface (UI) and front camera combined feature. This feature pauses a playing video whenever the user's head moves away from the screen. It also tracks the eye movement of the user and pauses the video whenever the eyes move away from the screen and starts playing it back as soon as the pair of eyes gets down to the screen.

The feature looks like an improved version of Smart Stay feature introduced in Galaxy S3. The Smart Stay feature uses the front camera and checks whether a pair of eyes looking at the screen or not. If it doesn't recognize an eye-pair in front of it, it turns of the screen and saves the phone's power.

Sound and Shot: So far, pictures have been treating our eyes only, but now our ears will also have something for them whenever a picture taken from Galaxy S4 camera opened. The Sound and Shot feature records a maximum 9 second audio when a picture is clicked. You can enjoy a picture more by adding background sound to it.

Group Play: With Group Play function you can pair same kind of multi-devices and share music, documents, pictures and most importantly games. This feature will be a treat for game lovers as they can now play games in multi player mode on their Galaxy smartphones.

There other features such as Air Gesture, Air View and Smart Scroll that can make way to other Galaxy devices which are going to get Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has also been a device which increased Samsung's revenue as well as the presence in the competitive smartphone market. As the Galaxy Note 2 is also expected to receive the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update, these features can also be expected by Note 2 users on their devices.
