The Windows 8.1 brings the camera and the gallery features out of the system and both the features can be accessed directly from the lockscreen without having to dig deep into the applications section.

Users of Windows 8.1 can also customize the start screen page and put the pictures or a series of pictures for the start screen display. The pictures will be on display while the tablet is locked. New pictures can also be added by clicking it with the in-built camera of the device without unlocking the device.

Moving from the display section, the Windows 8.1 also comes with improved built-in applications. The Photo app and Music app have also been given big feature improvements. The users can edit the photos directly from the Photo app and the pictures can be accessed from Mail, SkyDrive and Camera applications.

According to the Windows official blog, the Windows 8.1 gives a great relief to people who work in multi display system for their personal or professional reasons. The updated OS lets different screens work as a completely different system. The Windows Store application is also different for every display.

Users can also open applications in multiple windows so they can segregate their work properly when they multitask with different kinds of tasks in a same application.

The search options in the new operating system have also been updated in the Bing search engine.

The Internet browsing with Microsoft's own Internet Explorer has not been a good experience for many users and people keep on switching to other browsers like Firefox and Chrome. Realizing the problems related to Internet Explorer, the browser has been updated to IE11 version that works faster than the IE10 and responds more promptly in the Windows 8.1.
