HTC made some exciting announcements on Tuesday, Sept. 3, including a new Vivid Blue color option for the HTC One and a BoomBass accessory for the HTC One family.
The blue version of the HTC One has been widely rumored in recent months and now it is finally official as Vivid Blue. Previous whispers indicated that Verizon and Sprint will add the new color option in the U.S., but this remains unconfirmed for now. HTC announced the color option, but gave no precise details on which carriers will get it.
"The new Vivid Blue HTC One models will be available in select markets from Q4 2013 and HTC BoomBass will be available from the HTC Accessory Store from mid October 2013," the company revealed in the press release.
The HTC One has proved to be a very popular device and it is considered one of the best Android smartphones of this year. It appeals to many smartphone buyers due to its high-end specs and elegant, stylish design with a unibody metal casing. Having a new color option available will likely only boost the smartphone's popularity, as more choices usually means more prospective buyers.
The Vivid Blue color option for the HTC One looks pretty good and will likely attract more smartphone shoppers looking for a high-end device.
As the HTC One was so successful, the company decided to build a whole family of devices around its flagship and now it is offering a new accessory for the HTC One lineup.
The company describes the new BoomBass accessory as a "compact, Bluetooth-enabled subwoofer with a dedicated amplifier," able to deliver "clearer, more powerful bass" when combined with the BoomSound capabilities the HTC One smartphones already boast.
HTC did not offer any pricing details yet for the BoomBass accessory. With the gadget shipping in mid-October, however, it shouldn't be long until more information becomes available. The HTC BoomBass will become available in HTC's Accessory Store at this link.
The IFA 2013 trade show is also just around the corner and HTC will most likely have more to share at the event. Stay tuned.
