Samsung's new phablet, the Galaxy Note 3, will launch on AT&T on Sept. 1 and join T-Mobile's network a day later, on Sept. 2.
The IFA 2013 trade show in Berlin was as exciting as expected, if not more, and Samsung rocked the show with its latest devices. With the company's new phablet and first smartwatch now out of the bag, attention now shifts toward prices and availability.
All four major U.S. carriers have officially announced their plans for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear. Verizon announced that it will start taking pre-orders on Friday, Sept. 6, from 9 AM EST. Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile have also confirmed their plans to carry the Galaxy Note 3.
AT&T and T-Mobile were more prompt in announcing pricing and shipping details for the new Samsung devices.
The Galaxy Note 3 will arrive on AT&T on Oct. 1 with a $299.99 price tag on a two-year contract. The smartphone will also be available through the AT&T Next program for $35 per month. When it comes to the Galaxy Gear, the carrier simply said that the smartwatch will become available in the "coming weeks." AT&T gave no pricing details or exact launch date, but the gadget will likely cost roughly $300 and arrive around the same time as the new phablet.
T-Mobile customers, meanwhile, will be able to grab the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch starting on Oct. 2. The Galaxy Note 3 will require a $199 down payment followed by 24 equal monthly payments of $21, while the Galaxy Gear will set you back $299.99.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year and builds on the great success of its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 2. The new-generation phablet comes with improved specs and features and a bigger screen, aiming to take phablet lovers to the next level.
The Galaxy Gear, meanwhile, is the company's first smartwatch offering and comes as a companion accessory for Galaxy devices. It currently works only with the Galaxy Note 3, but Samsung promised to add support for the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 smartphones as well.
