The Nokia Lumia 1020 recently made its way to the UK on various mobile carriers and now Clove started shipping the unlocked version of the handset.

One of the most impressive features of the Lumia 1020 is its very high-end 41-megapixel camera, currently unparalleled in the smartphone market. The handset stirred lots of waves upon its launch and UK customers have been eagerly waiting to get their hands on this top-end Windows Phone 8 (WP8) device.

Those who don't want to commit to a lengthy agreement with a carrier to get the handset for a subsidized price can now get the unlocked Nokia Lumia 1020 from Clove UK, which is selling this version of £588 including taxes. It's not exactly cheap, but unlocked handsets rarely are, especially if they're high-end.

Clove has announced that it would start shipping the black and white color options of the unlocked Lumia 1020 on Thursday, Sept. 26, with the yellow model set to start shipping a few days later.

"The eagerly anticipated Nokia Lumia 1020 is now with us here at Clove Technology and we will be dispatching all pre-orders tomorrow (26/09/13) for the Black and white devices," the carrier said in a blog post on Wednesday, Sept. 25. "The yellow variant will be dispatched week commencing 30^th September."

The Nokia Lumia 1020 comes with a number of impressive specs and features, but the most-hyped aspect was its whopping 41-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a Xenon flash for photos and an LED flash for videos.

The WP8 smartphone sports a 4.5-inch WXGA AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. Under the hood, the Lumia 1020 houses a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM for a smooth user experience. The smartphone also comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity.

Customers who have pre-ordered the unlocked Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone in black or white from Clove UK should get their new smartphone any minute now, as the carrier has commenced shipping.
