The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is apparently coming to the U.S. on Sprint as well, not as an AT&T exclusive as previously rumored.
Samsung announced its Mini version of its current flagship a while back and the handset is expected to make its debut in the U.S. soon. Previous whispers suggested that AT&T might be the only carrier in the country to offer the smaller Galaxy S4, but it now seems that Sprint is joining the party.
The news is not official just yet, but two versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini have leaked online on Thursday, Oct. 10, and one of those images shows the Sprint variant of the smartphone.
The leaked images come from famous tipster @evleaks, who took to Twitter to post an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini in pink and a Sprint version of the handset in black and white color options.
The pink Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini may not suit everyone's taste, but AT&T is expected to offer the standard color options as well. Both Sprint and AT&T will likely launch the smartphone sometime during the next few months. With images of the handset already leaking for both carriers, however, the smartphone might make its debut sooner rather than later.
Samsung first released a Mini version of its flagship smartphone last year, when it introduced the Galaxy S3 Mini. The handset proved to be very popular, as it was smaller and more affordable than the Galaxy S3, while still offering some of the flagship's popular features.
In fact, the Galaxy S3 Mini proved to be such a good idea that it started a whole trend of Mini smartphones, with other companies launching smaller versions of their flagships. HTC, for instance, launched its HTC One Mini as a more compact version of its HTC One flagship.
Samsung, meanwhile, saw that it took a right path and continued this year with the Galaxy S4 Mini. For those unfamiliar with the handset, the smaller version of this year's flagship comes with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.7GHz and 1.5GB of RAM.
The smartphone further packs 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD, an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooter and a decent 1,900 mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
