Lenovo unveils Flex 10 convertible notebook with a choice of four processors

Alexandra Burlacu

Lenovo has launched a new convertible notebook with its Flex 10, a dual-mode device running Microsoft's latest Windows 8.1 operating system.

The new Lenovo Flex 10 notebook comes with a unique feature, allowing users to reverse the keyboard by flipping the screen 300 degrees to enter a stand mode. With the keys facing down, the screen will be standing in a tilted position ideal for using touch applications or watching a video.

"If you think a convertible notebook is out of your price range, think again. The Flex 10 is an ultraportable dual-mode laptop that flips 300 degrees from laptop to stand mode, a perfect way to enjoy movies on the go or make the most of touch applications," touts Lenovo.

"When you're relying heavily on the keyboard - drafting documents or working on a spreadsheet, for example - keep your Flex 10 in the classic laptop mode for maximum productivity. But when you're focusing on touch applications, web chatting, or enjoying a film or video, flip the screen 300 degrees to enter stand mode. The Flex 10's unique design means it adapts to whatever you choose to do."

The new Lenovo Flex 10 will be customizable, allowing interested buyers to choose from four available processors: the quad-core Intel Pentium N3510, the quad-core Celeron N2910, the dual-core N2810, or the dual-core Celeron N2805, with integrated graphics.

The convertible notebook sports a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 728 pixels. The device comes with 500GB of storage, while RAM depends on the type of processor you choose. The Pentium models will support up to 4GB of DDR3L and the Celeron versions will support up to 2GB of DDR3L. In terms of connectivity, the Lenovo Flex 10 includes HDMI output, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, as well as support for Wireless N and Bluetooth 4.0.

Lenovo has yet to offer pricing and availability details for its new Flex 10 convertible notebook, but the system is expected to launch with a starting price of around $560. Stay tuned for more information as soon as it becomes available.
