Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 now $0.01 on-contract from Amazon

Amazon seems to be in a very generous mood these holidays, and the retailer is now offering the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 for just $0.01.

With just one week left until 2013 comes to an end, various carriers and retailers continue to offer attractive promotions for popular devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is widely considered one of the best smartphones to launch in 2013, but top-notch devices usually don't come cheap. The flagship boasts high-end specs and features, as well as a large, high-resolution display and some neat Samsung-exclusive goodies.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a high pixel density of 441 pixels per inch (ppi). The handset packs a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood, coupled with 2GB of RAM to make it ultra-fast and responsive.

Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 64GB, a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto flash, zero shutter lag and full HD 1080p video recording capabilities, as well as a 2-megapixel front shooter. Wireless connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. Moreover, the smartphone also features an IR blaster that allows it to serve as a universal remote control with a dedicated program guide.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 packs a large 2,600 mAh battery and ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but is upgradable to Android 4.3 out of the box via OTA.

Verizon Wireless is currently selling the Samsung Galaxy S4 for $199.99 when signing a new two-year contract online and in its retail stores. Amazon, however, has a far better deal, offering the exact same smartphone for just one penny on a new two-year contract with Verizon.

If you wanted a new Samsung Galaxy S4 and didn't find one under your tree, here's your chance. Head over to Amazon at this link and get the Verizon smartphone for just $0.01 on-contract. The handset appears as in stock and ready to ship at the time of writing, but there's no telling how long this promotion will last. As usual, Amazon is also including free two-day shipping with the order.
