AT&T has officially launched the 32GB Nokia Lumia 1520 Windows Phone 8 phablet on Friday, Jan. 10, for $249.99 on-contract or $639.99 contract-free.
When Nokia first announced its impressive Lumia 1520 device, the company said that it would launch the phablet exclusively on AT&T in the U.S. and it would come in two storage configurations - 16GB and 32GB. While the 16GB model went on sale soon after, the 32GB version was MIA until now.
Just a couple of days ago, a report claimed that the 32GB Nokia Lumia 1520 would land on AT&T on Friday, Jan 10. As it turns out, that report proved to be accurate and AT&T did launch the higher-capacity Lumia 1520, but the phablet already appears as "out of stock" on the carrier's website.
The 32GB AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520 is available only in a Matte Black color option and will set you back $249.99 when agreeing to sign a new two-year contract with the carrier, or $639.99 if you prefer to purchase it contract-free. While the 32GB version of the device appears as out of stock on AT&T's website, you may still have a chance to find it at one of the carrier's retail stores. Head over to this link to check in-store availability before heading out to the nearest AT&T store.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is a first both for Nokia and for the Windows Phone 8 platform, as it launched as the first large-screen smartphone. The device comes with impressive specs and features, boasting a massive 6-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Lumia 1520 runs the latest version of Windows Phone and packs a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor under the hood, coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 graphics.
While Nokia is world-renowned for its durable handsets, the company has also made a name for itself through the high-end camera capabilities it offers with its top-notch smartphones. The Nokia Lumia 1520 features a 20-megapixel rear camera with Nokia's PureView technology, Carl Zeiss lens, as well as a slew of other high-end camera features. The handset also has a 1.2-megapixel front shooter for video calls and self-shots.
It remains unclear at this point just when AT&T will replenish stock for the Nokia Lumia 1520 on its online store, but it will likely add new supplies soon. In the meantime, check out AT&T retail stores for the 32GB Lumia 1520.
