Battlefield 3, Plants vs. Zombies now completely free - Deal expires on June 3 (EA)

EA has some good news for Battlefield fans, as the company has just announced it is offering Battlefield 3 for free as part of a limited-time deal.

If you were thinking about Battlefield 3 but have yet to make the purchase, you can now add the game to your library completely free of charge, courtesy of EA. This deal is a limited-time offer only good for one week, but during this promotional period interested gamers can download the game for free and keep it forever - no subsequent charges will occur.

"Battlefield 3 for PC is absolutely free for a limited time with Origin On the House," EA announced on Wednesday, May 28. "You read that right. Battlefield 3 on PC is totally free, but only for a week."

According to the company, all you have to do is add the game to your library on Origin, i.e. EA's gaming platform, and you will be able to keep this free download forever.

As previously mentioned, however, this deal is only good for a week, so interested gamers should take advantage of it in due time. In other words, even if you don't plan on playing Battlefield 3 in the near future, it would still be a good deal to go ahead and download it anyway, just to have it there. After all, it's free and you can play it anytime later.

Those who already have Battlefield in their library, meanwhile, can take advantage of EA's other deals. The company is also making Plants vs. Zombies free for download for both the PC and Mac. This deal will work the same way as the Battlefield 3 one. This means that you have to download the game and add it to your Origin library, where you'll have it forever.

These limited-time offers, both for Battlefield 3 and for Plants vs. Zombies, will expire on Tuesday, June 3. After this promotional period passes, the games will continue to be available for their regular pricing. If you're interested in scoring some freebies, head over to Origin's website now and take advantage of this special one-week offer.

"For more chance to score free games, look out for Origin Free Code Friday and read up on the EA Tuesday Exclusive. On the House titles change frequently so keep checking back," adds EA.
