Mercedes-Benz Employs Smartphone-Like Features In Their Latest 2017 E-class

Mercedes-Benz, like other car manufacturers, has been making an effort to stay relevant with all the latest technological developments. Recently, the public has been treated with their different sporty and attractive interiors incorporating class and luxury with a hint of coolness. It seems like they have in fact, been able to keep up well with the public.

And now with the upcoming debut of their new 2017 E-class at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month, the public might even hold a bigger expectation for them. With that said, the automaker designed an impressive build of the cabin that is made to be both progressive and technologically advanced but at the same time, simple and easy to use.

Like their other competitors, Mercedes-Benz has a screen that will rival other brands but with a twist. Theirs screen will be controlled by two touch buttons that is integrated into the multi-functioning steering wheel. The car manufacturer claims that this is the first time that the said feature is incorporated in car. The feature that allows smartphone like swipe gestures to command various tasks.

The touch controls will be so easy and familiar to use that the user will only need a little time familiarizing themselves with the screen. Aside from that, there is also an option for the user to personalize the touchpad sensitivity from one to three levels for total comfort. There are also other options for inputting information like the large center console touchpad, the command knobs and the voice command options.

There are currently three screen designs available which are Classic, Sport, and Progressive. Classic involves a clean look and has a white lettering that is normal for Mercedes owners. Sport is yellow themed with an athletic appearance, while Progressive has more vibrant visuals. The user can also elect what information they would like their screens to prioritize including tachometer and navigation.

CarPlay will be made available on the 2017 E-class next year when it goes on sale. Meanwhile, the Android Auto is yet to be confirmed, although the car manufacture's spokesman said that it is possible to be employed by the car.
