NBA Trade Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Not Trading Kevin Love This Season?

Aug 25, 2016 08:30 AM EDT

Amidst speculations about Kevin Love's trade, the latest NBA rumors hinted that the Cleveland Cavaliers will not give away their power forward.

According to the sources close to the Cavaliers, Love's departure to any other team in the NBA league is not even remotely a consideration for the team, reported NESN. Reports claimed that even though many teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers are ready to welcome him, the Cleveland Cavaliers will not part ways with Love at any cost as he is one of their most important assets.

Furthermore, there are reports that the Cavaliers are planning to retain Love until he is scheduled to hit the free agency in 2019-20 NBA season.

Chat Sports reported that this is a surprise for the NBA fans as Love has been the center of trade talks since the end of the last season. Earlier, reports claimed that the team's management was apparently looking out for a perfect trade option as the 27-year-old player was considered a misfit for the Cavaliers alongside other veteran players like LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.

Albeit the Cavaliers won the NBA title last season with Love on their side, reports stated that his average performance in the finals against the Golden State Warriors sparked the trade rumors. Additonally, other rumors hinted that the Cleveland Cavaliers were also planning to bring in 76ers power forward Nerlens Noel in exchange for Love.

Nonetheless, the recent reports have silenced all the trade rumors related to Love. It is stated that the Cavaliers will not get anyone better than Love in a trade as he has helped them win many games last year.

What's in store for Kevin Love can only be known after an official confirmation from the Cavaliers. Stay tuned here for more updates and NBA trade rumors.
