'Resident Evil 7' News: No Combat And Only Running Like 'Silent Hill: Shattered Memories'? Producer Clarifies Game Mechanics

Based on all the footages that fans have seen so far, not even a subtle hint of combat has been shown, leading them to believe that there's no fighting in the game at all. Game producer clarifies this for fans in an interview.

Fans speculated that "Resident Evil 7" won't be having any combat and would be similar to the PS2 game "Silent Hill: Shattered Memories" where the players only had to run, duck, hide, and solve puzzles.

However, Masachika Kawata, "Resident Evil 7" producer stated in a recent interview with Metro that the game is not without combat. In previous reports, a prior update about the return of the Green Herbs compliments the combat features.

However, Kawata didn't provide further information regarding how the combat system will play out in the game.

"Combat is obviously something that's really important in a Resident Evil game, we're just kind of showing a little bit at a time with different aspects," he told Metro.

"So we're taking it one step at a time here. Some people have got the impression that combat is missing from this game, because of the content we've shown so far, but actually combat is definitely in there. The main character is not one of these gun-toting heroes that we've sort of gone towards in the recent entries. It's very much a normal person, a normal guy who's put in an extreme situation and has to survive."

Kawata also explained that there would be more reveals from time to time and they are intent on bringing the classic "Resident Evil" experience with "Resident Evil 7" with loads of puzzles, exploration, and the hallmark of survival horror games, limited resource management.

Fans are expecting to see more of "Resident Evil 7" in the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which is to be held next month.
