'Destiny: Rise Of Iron': Here's When 'The Dawning' Holiday Event Will Launch

Bungie is set to launch the Winter event for "Destiny: Rise of Iron" today. Here's what you need to know about "The Dawning."

Sparrow Racing League Returns

"The Dawning" will mark the return of the Sparrow Racing League to "Destiny." Bungie will be bringing back the feature, and will also be adding two new tracks and new Sparrows, to the fray, including the EV-51 Sunstroke and the EV-44 Firefly.

There will be gear drops to be expected from Sparrow Racing, as well as quests to entice players to continue racing, although this is yet to be confirmed.

Year 3 Exotic Weapon: Icebreaker

Also coming back to "Destiny" with "The Dawning" update is the powerful Exotic Weapon, sniper rifle Icebreaker.

The Icebreaker is considered as one of the best Exotic weapons in the game, as it is the only weapon who can regenerate its own ammo. At column 6, the Icebreaker can make enemies spontaneously combust, doing extra damage to anyone near them.

The Icebreaker also has the best range among all the sniper rifles in the game, making it arguably the best sniper, and one of the best weapons, available in "Destiny."

Strike Scoring And Revamped Strikes

Bungie is also bringing a new feature called Strike Scoring in the game, which is applicable both in single player and as a team. This will also include Bounties and rewards to complete.

In line with the new scoring system, several strikes went through a revamp, with brand new enemies and challenges to overcome. The Nexus, The Will of Crota and The Shadow Thief were all overhauled, and players will start noticing the difference once the patch update lands.

Other Important Changes

Aside from setting the festive mood in game by decking the tower with tons of Holiday decors, players will also see an increased drop rate for Skeleton Keys in SIVA Crisis playlist, SIVA Crisis Heroic playlist, and weekly Nightfall. The Sigil of the Young Wolf emblem has also been revamped, giving players a higher chance of getting it.
